India, Russia Explore Economic Cooperation
These discussions took place during the 11th Session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation in New Delhi.
The meeting coincided with US President Donald Trump’s announcement of 50% tariffs on Indian imports in response to New Delhi’s ongoing purchases of Russian oil.
The working group emphasized joint efforts in science and technology fields, including wind tunnel technologies, aircraft engines, and carbon fiber advancements.
They also explored prospects in coal gasification and the development of industrial infrastructure.
The session concluded with the signing of a protocol that reaffirmed the robust strategic partnership between the two nations.
Simultaneously, Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval is visiting Moscow to enhance the defense and security collaboration between Russia and India.
According to Indian media outlets, Doval is expected to negotiate the procurement of additional S-400 missile systems for India.
Presently, New Delhi possesses three such systems out of a larger order of five acquired from Russia. These systems were deployed during a brief military clash with Pakistan in May.
